HARLEY_M

ARTISTS STATEMENT
I grew up with emotionally damaged and somewhat old-school mindset parents, they didn't really encourage physical beauty, or embracing my femininity. I've struggled with body dysmorphia and low self-esteem my whole life. Taking the time to contribute to "I Shot Myself" has given me the opportunity to almost confront my physical manifestation and embrace it truly for what it is. I've never been a particularly sexual or sensual person, I have a lot of trauma revolving around sex, so taking the power back into my hands and getting out of my comfort zone to do this project has been liberating - you are only beautiful if you yourself believe so.
