ARTISTS STATEMENT

During my adolescent years I was always extremely self conscious about my body and where I fitted in. I yearned for the feeling of belonging, to feel at home within my surroundings and within myself. It has only been recently that I've truly begun to explore myself, my sexuality and where I belong. Something that particularly helped me on this journey was taking up life drawing classes, where I discovered how beautiful the human body and art can be! All humans long to feel at home, to BE at home, not only within their surroundings, but also within themselves. I have learnt to let go of the insecurities that consumed my world for so long, and to find peace in the environment I am living in. I am finally proud of my body. Being naked is FUN! I want the world to see that I am confident and I want them to fall in love with the tiny treasures that I am surrounded by. I am happy with my body and with myself. I am home! When I first shot myself I was a little nervous, but then I just went for it! I had so much fun. I felt super cheeky and excited, and really good about my body.
